Advocacy

In light of recent developments in the LGBTQI+ situation in Kosovo, the
primary objective remains to elevate advocacy efforts aimed at bolstering the legal
framework pertaining to the rights of LGBTQI+ individuals and ensuring its effective
implementation at both local and national levels.
CSGD remains committed to advocating for the recognition of LGBTQI+
individuals’ legal rights in Kosovo. This includes close cooperation with law
enforcement agencies to address hate-crime cases rooted in sexual orientation and
gender identity.

Moving forward, CSGD continues its collaborative efforts with relevant
institutions, such as Rule of Law Institutions, Human Rights Institutions, the
Ombudsperson’s office, the Office for Good Governance, the Centers for Social Work
within municipalities, and other civil society organizations. This collective approach
aims to advocates for a more inclusive legal framework and the improved
implementation of laws and policies. Key areas of focus encompass various LGBTQI+
rights issues, including access to justice, marriage equality, legal gender recognition,
access to healthcare services (e.g. STI’s treatment, transitioning process, reproductive
health), addressing and monitoring hate crime cases based on sexual orientation and/or gender identity.
