Needs Assessment of Lesbian, Bisexual, and Queer (LBQ) Women in Kosovo

This report presents the first comprehensive look into the lived realities, challenges, and needs of lesbian, bisexual, and queer (LBQ) women in Kosovo. Conducted through interviews, focus groups, and desk research, the assessment reveals how LBQ women remain largely invisible in public discourse, organizational agendas, and policymaking.

The findings highlight significant gaps in healthcare access, safe spaces, and representation – both within society and the broader LGBT+ movement. Many LBQ women face compounded discrimination based on gender and sexual orientation, leading to social isolation, limited access to services, and a lack of dedicated support structures.

The report calls for greater visibility, inclusion, and collaboration between LGBT+, women’s rights, and human rights organizations to create safer, more supportive, and equitable environments for LBQ women across Kosovo.

By amplifying LBQ women’s voices and experiences, this assessment seeks to inform future advocacy, research, and policy efforts – ensuring that no part of the queer community remains unseen or unheard.
